Total Time 28 minutes mins
- 4 slices of sturdy sourdough bread avoid using soft bread for better structure
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1/3 cup Sauvignon Blanc
- 8 ounces of chilled brie rind removed and sliced thin
- 1 medium Honeycrisp apple thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
Spread butter on one side of each bread slice, then brush the other side with Sauvignon Blanc.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place two slices of bread, butter-side-down, into the skillet. Layer each slice with brie, apple slices, and cranberry sauce, then top with the remaining slices of bread, butter-side-up. Cover the skillet with a lid.
Lower the heat to medium and allow the sandwiches to toast on the bottom. Once the cheese begins to melt, remove the lid and use a spatula to check the underside of the sandwiches. When they’re golden brown, flip them gently and toast the other side until golden brown. Serve immediately with a glass of chilled Sauvignon Blanc!
