Ingredients

Ingredients:
  • cups 180 g powdered sugar
  • ½ cup 115 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups 120 g finely crushed vanilla wafers
  • ¼ cup 60 ml frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest optional, for added flavor
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup 200 g white chocolate chips or candy melts, for coating
Optional Garnishes:
  • Sprinkles
  • Additional orange zest

Method

Make the Truffle Mixture:
  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until the texture is smooth and fluffy.
  2. Mix in the thawed orange juice concentrate, vanilla extract, and orange zest if you’re using it.
  3. Add the crushed vanilla wafers and stir until a dough-like consistency forms.
Form the Truffles:
  1. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture and roll them between your hands to form smooth balls.
  2. Arrange the truffle balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then place them in the fridge for about 30 minutes to firm up.
Melt the White Chocolate:
  1. Place the white chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Heat in 20-second increments, stirring after each round, until the chocolate is fully melted and silky smooth.
Dip the Truffles:
  1. Using a fork or dipping tool, carefully lower each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate. Let the excess coating drip off.
  2. Return each coated truffle to the parchment-lined tray.
Add Garnish (Optional):
  1. While the coating is still wet, decorate with sprinkles or a bit of extra orange zest for a festive touch.
Chill and Enjoy:
  1. Refrigerate the truffles for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until the coating is fully set. Serve them chilled for the best texture, or let them come to room temperature for a softer bite.
  2. Let me know if you want this adapted for a fun recipe card or printable version!

Notes

Storage:
Keep the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week, or store them in the freezer for up to three months for longer shelf life.
Substitutions:
If desired, swap out the vanilla wafers with graham cracker crumbs to give the truffles a slightly different taste and texture.
Boost the Orange Flavor:
For a more intense citrus kick, add a few drops of orange extract to the mixture.
